Minnesota Vikings Playoff Tickets
During the team's first 45 years of existence, there has been much demand for Minnesota Vikings playoff tickets throughout the city of Minneapolis and indeed all across the state which they call home. Much of this is due to the postseason success that the Vikings franchise has enjoyed throughout the decades. Minnesota first reached the playoff in their seventh year in the National Football League, losing both the NFL Divisional Playoff and the Third-Place Game that season. The following season, they defeated the Cleveland Browns, 27-7, in the NFL Championship game. That victory gave them the right to play in Super Bowl IV. The Vikings lost that game, 23-7 to the Kansas City Chiefs, but went on to appear in three more Super Bowls, all in the 1970s. Minnesota has won 16 division championships during their lifespan, with the most recent coming in 2000. The team's last playoff appearance was in 2004, as the Vikings reached the Divisional Playoffs as a Wild Card winner before bowing to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Minnesota Vikings Playoff Tickets in 2005?
With all of the changes that have taken place on the team's roster entering this season, can fans honestly expect to buy Minnesota Vikings playoff tickets again this season? That will depend on three things. First, can the club's leading pass catcher from 2004, Nate Burleson, can maintain his level of performance now that he, not Randy Moss, is the team's No. 1 receiver? Second, will first round draft pick Troy Williamson from South Carolina emerge as a legitimate deep threat? Finally, will the additions of seven new defensive starters, including cornerback Fred Smoot and safety Darren Sharper, be enough to drastically improve one of the worst defenses in the National Football League last season? If all of these pieces can come together, the odds are good that the Metrodome will be hosting a playoff game this season.
